It is the most wonderful time of year – and no, not because Santa is coming to town but because it’s Valo Adelaide 500 month!

Excited and in awe is an understatement for our team at CMV Truck Centre when we had the Supercar Transporters arrive at our dealership in preparation for the iconic Supercar Transporter Parade on Tuesday, November 29. 

The first B-double arrived at our dealership at about 8am with our team directing them into position of pit lane order, ready for their convoy into the city later in the afternoon.
 

Parking diagonally along our fence line and facing out towards the road, the next few rigs started to arrive with one team unloading their top-secret supercar out of their trailer and into our yard, ready to be taken to their Launch Party that night! Although it was hidden undercover, we felt very special to have caught a glimpse before the rest of the world – even if it was just the wheels!

Kenworth Australia have a longstanding partnership with Supercars, and it was great to see Team 18’s tough-looking Kenworth T909 prime mover roll into our yard. This stunning flagship was driven straight off the production line back in 2021 to our sister dealership - Hallam Truck Centre in Victoria, to have its final touches added before Team 18 took delivery. Stand out features on this big rig would make anyone envious with stainless steel tank trims, 6.0” straight-cut twin stacks, extra roof lights and a custom bulbar – to name a few!

All 14 trucks had arrived and had their final wipe down by 1.30pm along with a couple of very cool Supercar Safety Cars, and a surprise appearance from Santa looking for a ride to the track – unfortunately for him, we don’t sell reindeers. 

A crowd of people, including our team, drivers, and Supercar staff, started to form in our driveway close to 2pm in anticipation of their voyage to begin. 

At 2.15pm it was time to get this show on the road! An entourage of police shut down Port Wakefield Road and the very impressive, multi-million-dollar procession of B-double transporters rolled out of our dealership yard and began their convoy towards the Adelaide CBD, where they would take their positions in the Supercar paddock at the Adelaide Parklands Street Circuit. 

We feel very special to have been able to accommodate a base for the Supercar Transporters Parade signifying the start of the long-awaited return of the Valo Adelaide 500 and we look forward to seeing all the action from the race!
