Kenworth K220 Launch Event at Pirate Life
Beers, Burgers, Beard trims and Kenworth Rigs in a beer garden! What more could you want?!
CMV Truck Centre customers and their guests were recently invited to our Kenworth K220 Launch Event at Pirate Life Brewing for an exclusive insight into the strikingly unique, comfortable, and elevated new cab over model.
Our day started early – with a convoy of seven trucks making their way from our dealership in Cavan to Pirate Life Brewing in Port Adelaide, where we watched our team skillfully position the five heritage trucks and two new K220’s into the beer garden with absolute ease, in preparation of our launch that night – very impressive to watch!
Fast forward to 6:30pm when our customers started to arrive. As they entered the brewery, they were welcomed with a spectacular line up of cabovers lit up on display, trays of Pirate Life Beers in K220 stubby holders being served, and fantastic live music by Lesley Williams. Seeing all our customers, new and old, having a chat over a drink and some food in an epic venue was long overdue and a great feeling.
The impressive array of Heritage Trucks were a definite highlight of the night. Having a line up of Kenworth cabovers on display helped convey the history of where they started, to where they are now. Thanks again to the Clark Family, Tony Bakoulis, Matt Nitschke, and the Collins Family for allowing us to showcase some of their previous model Kenworth's. They really looked amazing all lit up in the beer garden!
Paul Crisp, CMV Truck Centre Sales Manager, kicked off the night as host inside the brewery by officially welcoming all our valued customers and thanking them for taking time out of their week to attend our special night. Daniel Crawford, CMV Truck Centre Director, followed with some great insights into the industry, product development and our long, ongoing and valued relationship with PACCAR Australia.
We also had the honor of Andrew Hadjikakou, PACCAR Australia Managing Director, joining us to thank customers for their ongoing loyalty and support of Kenworth trucks, as well as presenting Michael Crawford with a very special gift to recognise his relationship with PACCAR Australia for over 50 years. Michael was presented with a custom diecast model of a W900SAR, the exact replica of a truck that CMV bought back nearly 20 years ago, given a customary signature red paint job and added into the CMV Historic Collection. Michael had originally sold the truck to Lyn Wood, one of the many customers Michael had dealt with over the years. This was a wonderful moment to have shared with our customers.
PACCAR Australia Deputy Chief Engineer, Bill Rakis and Regional Sales Manager, Anthony Spence-Fletcher then gave our customers a detailed overview of what we were all there for - the all new, next level K220! Anthony has so much passion and knowledge for the Kenworth brand, so it was a real treat for customers to hear him speak on the new and improved features on the exterior and interior of the new cabover model.
Bill Rakis then gave our customers a technical insight into the upgraded technology and safety systems within the model which were extremely impressive and we know that it will be an added benefit to the drivers of these great models.
It was great to have the PACCAR Australia team make the trip over for our event - it really demonstrated how important our customers are to them, to have had such great representation from the manufacturer present at our launch.
Once the formalities finished, our customers were encouraged to hang around for more live entertainment from Lesley, plus Dusty Lee and Jess joined her for an acoustic set of some classic Australian covers. Porchetta rolls, cheeseburgers, and other drool-worthy menu items were thoroughly enjoyed by our customers who were also stopping into the barber to get their beards trimmed and hair cut.
As the night went on, with a Pirate Life brew in hand – customers were swapping stories inside at the bar, around the firepits outside in the beer garden, as well as getting in and out of the K220’s to get a good look – not even the rain could deter them!
When the night slowly wrapped up, our customers were encouraged to take home a special gift of Pirate Life Beer along with a range of Kenworth merchandise as a thank you for their continued support of CMV Truck Centre and for joining us for what was an incredible night.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Kenworth K220 Launch and we look forward to more of these epic customer events in the near future!
