2021 Apprentice Welcome & Graduation
Earlier this month we had the pleasure of welcoming our valued new apprentices, with their partners and families at our annual Apprentice Welcome & Graduation Evening. The event is also in recognition of the mentors within our business who help to guide and teach our apprentices through to the completion of their trade and beyond.
We are extremely pleased to welcome Thomas Anderson, Blake Cook and William Thomas to our workshop, all joining us from a range of backgrounds, from automotive to agriculture.
Graduating this year is Ethan McLean, who joined us in 2017 and was proudly awarded CMV Truck Centre’s Apprentice of the Year in 2019, a well-deserved achievement!
When asked about his experience, Ethan says “I have enjoyed my apprenticeship with CMV Truck Centre and have had opportunities that many other apprentices from other workshops could only dream of. The work here is very diverse and interesting which means as a technician, my trades skills and knowledge allows me to work on any vehicle with confidence.”
Alongside Ethan were graduates Nicholas Pitt, who revels in the satisfaction of working on Kenworth trucks, and Jesse Maynard, who completed his Parts Interpreter Traineeship through Motor Trade Association’s Group Training Scheme. Jesse now maintains his position with us full-time, responsible for the hundreds of parts provided to our technicians for daily repair and maintenance.
About the Apprenticeship Training Program
CMV Truck Centre’s four-year apprenticeship program combines specialised on the job training and learning with industry leading professionals at our state-of-the-art facilities.
Apprentices begin with a three-week induction around workshop and equipment safety, followed by workshop specific processes. Upon completion, each apprentice is assigned to a qualified technician for supervision and mentorship for their next two years. Over this period, they are taught specific job tasks and guided through their on-the-job skills training across various departments such as auto electrical, engineering, and service and safety.
