2020 Apprentice Welcome Evening
Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming our valued new apprentices, with their partners and families at our annual Apprentice Welcome & Graduation Evening. The event is also in recognition of the mentors within our business who help to guide and teach our apprentices through to the completion of their trade and beyond.
We are extremely pleased to welcome Steven Deer, Matthew Henderson, Domenick Keuning, Hayden Melnik and Hayden Wigzell to our workshop.
About the Apprenticeship Training Program
CMV Truck Centre’s four-year apprenticeship program combines specialised on the job training and learning with industry leading professionals at our state-of-the-art facilities.
Apprentices begin with a three-week induction around workshop and equipment safety, followed by workshop specific processes. Upon completion, each apprentice is assigned to a qualified technician for supervision and mentorship for their next two years. Over this period, they are taught specific job tasks and guided through their on-the-job skills training across various departments such as auto electrical, engineering, and service and safety.
Group Training Manager, Troy Seyfang, provides further training and support throughout the apprenticeship program by coordinating and supervising trade school attendance, training plans, and providing guidance and advice.
Upon completion of the program, apprentices will have gained skills and experience to tackle any level of maintenance and repair, from routine servicing, bumper to bumper repairs, and in-frame and out-of-frame engine rebuilds.
